Introduction

The methyl Ester washing unit is designed to remove part of glycerine, methanol and soaps still contained in the methyl ester phase coming from glycerine separation (unit 6163S) by adding a predefined quantity of water and citric acid solution.

After mixing of these components, the washing water with the most of impurities is separated from the methyl ester by means of centrifugal separation.
